10/22/2014 6:58:02 PM

On October 20, 2014, Livingston Parish Sheriff's Deputies were called to the Richmond Place Subdivision – located in Watson – in reference to items being swiped from unlocked vehicles. The vehicles were burglarized during the overnight hours on October 20 and the early morning hours of October 21st.

Detectives with the LPSO Burglary Division were able to determine – with the help of vigilant Livingston Parish residents – that 3 individuals were tied to between 25 and 30 vehicle burglaries – all unlocked. It was determined that items like laptops, GPS devices and sports equipment were taken.  An estimated value of the items taken: $3,000.00 - $6,000.00.

Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘thanks to citizens and law enforcement working together, three suspects were taken into custody within a matter of hours. The items taken were also recovered and will be returned to the rightful owners.' The Sheriff also warns that ‘these suspects admitted to ‘only' targeting vehicles left unlocked.' He urges residents to take valuables inside for safekeeping and to make a habit of locking their doors.

The arrests were made on October 21, 2014. The charges – for each – include 3 counts of Simple Burglary and Resisting An Officer.  The trio includes:
