On July 21, 2014, numerous vehicle burglaries were reported to the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office.  Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘through an investigation that followed those reports, we've identified that 36 separate vehicles were broken into. All 36 vehicles were left unlocked.'

All of the vehicles were located in the Denham Springs area – in the Forest Ridge and Westminster Estates
subdivisions. These vehicles were entered during the early morning hours.  Valuables – including GPSs, credit cards, wallets and sports equipment - were taken.

During the same time frame in the same area, members of the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office also responded to a vehicle theft report. Sheriff Ard says, ‘a 2008 black Toyota FJ Cruiser with a white top was stolen from a residence. The vehicle displays a Louisiana License Plate RYU025.'

Detectives are still currently investigating the incidents and are in the process of reviewing security video
footage in the area. This will help determine how many suspects were involved.

Sheriff Ard would like to remind everyone to remove any valuables from vehicles or place valuables
out-of-sight. Most importantly, would be for every vehicle owner to make sure it's secure by locking up.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office at (225) 686-2241 or call Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
