Just after 3:00p.m. on August 29, 2015, members of the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 32085 Burgess Rd in the Denham Springs area of Livingston Parish in reference to a shooting.

Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘We have learned that 2 individuals were visiting at the Burgess address. Neither lived there. We know an argument occurred between 2 men. We don't know what that argument was about. We do know one man used a handgun to shoot another in the chest area.'

The victim was transported to a local hospital where his condition – as of this writing – is unknown.

Sheriff says, ‘We have identified a suspect. That suspect is Johnathan Debacco. (SEE ATTACHED PICTURE). We are currently looking for Debacco. He was last seen wearing faded blue jean shorts, a grey or light blue shirt, black tennis shoes and a black baseball cap. Once the shot was fired, Debacco
fled the scene. He caught a ride and bailed out around the 10,000 block of Arnold Road. He is currently on foot. It is unknown if he is armed. We do have a perimeter in place.'

Sheriff Ard urges anyone with information related to this case, to please call the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office at (225) 686-2241 x349 or Crime Stoppers at (225) 344-STOP (7867).
