5/1/2015 6:40:03 PM

Detectives with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office began investigating the beating of a 17-year old male on April 23, 2015. The incident was reported to have happened at a residence in Holden.

Through an investigation that followed, LPSO detectives were able to identify a suspect. At the time,
the suspect was identified by his street name, Dragon – a white male with multiple facial tattoos.

Further searching by LPSO detectives uncovered that Dragon's given name is Lawrence ‘Larry' Bottoms (D.O.B.: 9/19/1989) of 16708 Chickasaw Avenue on Greenwell Springs.

With assistance from the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, Bottoms was located at his residence.
He was arrested as a fugitive from Livingston Parish. He also faces unrelated charges from East
Baton Rouge – felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of body armor and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Due to the critical condition of the victim, LPSO detectives were finally able to speak with the victim on April 29, 2015. Detectives learned the victim was stabbed multiple times in the facial and eye areas.
The weapon used is believed to be a screwdriver.

Because of the nature of the injuries, what was a 2nd Degree Battery charge has escalated to an Attempted 2nd Degree Murder Charge.

A motive is unclear.

Bottoms is currently in the Livingston Parish Detention Center. Please visit and click on our ‘Inmate List' tool located at the top of the page for more information.
