Arrest Following Evening Disturbance
7/28/2015 4:33:58 PM

During the evening hours of July 27, 2015, Melvin Graham of 28892 George White Road in Holden turned himself into deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office on charges concerning an earlier disturbance at his residence.

It was learned through investigation that on July 27, 2015, Graham had discharged a 20 gauge shotgun onto the asphalt roadway in front of his residence. The shotgun was loaded with buckshot - which ricocheted when fired - striking an unnamed subject in the back of the neck.

Graham fired the weapon as he and the subject had engaged in an argument over a civil-related matter concerning community property belonging to Graham and his girlfriend.

The injured subject was transported to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The subject was later released.

Graham is currently in the Livingston Parish Detention Center. Visit and use our ‘Inmate List' tool located on the top of the page for more information.
