On July 7, 2013 deputies with the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office responded to an incident that originally was reported to have occurred at a residence on Carla Drive in Walker involving a firearm.
According to initial reports, Cody Wilson(28 years old) of Denham Springs is said to have discharged a handgun at a vehicle that contained four(4) occupants with multiple rounds striking the vehicle. This was said to have happened following a brief verbal altercation at the Carla Drive residence.
Wilson was arrested shortly afterwards in the Denham Springs area and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center charged with four(4) counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder. His bond is currently set at $150,000 and Wilson still remains at LPDC.
Along with Wilson, Brett Burkins(21 years old) of Walker was also taken into custody and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center on four(4) counts of Principal to Attempted Second Degree Murder with a $100,000 bond. Burkins posted bond on July 12, 2013 and no longer at LPDC.
The incident is still under investigation by the Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office and there are no further updates at this time.
