| LPSO Reserve Program |
LPSO reserve program is a division that consist of volunteers that donate their time to assist in the operation of the Livingston Parish Sheriffs Office duties. The volunteers assist in all capacities of this office including Communications, Jail, Patrol and Clerical.
Some of these duties include, security at High School sporting events, parades, fund raisers (St. Jude, March of Dimes, etc…).
Reserve officers go through all training that full time officers are required to do, which includes weapon qualification, physical fitness, and classroom training.
To be eligible to apply for the LPSO Reserve program you must live in Livingston Parish, have a High school diploma or GED, and have no felony convictions against you. The following is a list of requirements that Reserve Officers have to maintain to keep their position in the LPSO Reserve Program.
1. Work a minimum of 20 hours a month
2. Attend the reserve meeting once a month
3. Attend all bi-monthly training sessions
4. Qualify with weapon bi-annually
5. Pass physical fitness test bi-annually
